Well, I can't reblog my own blog post.  So, as often happens, a response to a comment generated a response that might interest more than just the member who commented.  Since the post isn't featured (you know how that goes), folks might not see Kathleen's comment.  See:  ActiveRain Is Far More Than Just A Blog! A Message For A New Member, Matthew Souto.

Question:  Kathleen Daniels ponders her experiences with inviting fellow agents to join.

My response.  I's wondered the same thing for years and believe that most agents are

1.  Satisfied with the level of business they have.
2.  Don't understand what we're talking about.
3.  Think they are too busy.
4.  Believe that anything this inexpensive can't do much.
5.  Think it's too expensive>
6.  Have been in business long enough to have enough business (as though there is ever enough.)7.  Think that they can't write.
8.  Can't type.  Yep, there are still a few of them around.  Their hands shake when they go to the office computer.
9.  Their broker discourages blogging by agents.  These are brokers who generate leads and sell them to agents.

Don't forget.  There are many practicing real estate agents who do not own a web page, don't blog and are not really comfortable with e-mail.

Hard to believe isn't it?

I have witnessed this phenomenon.   When the agents in my company got their own broker's license, they still rely a lot of business that I send to them.  Fine with me.  It's good business for Lenn.  I collect a referral fee and have none of the risks from their practices.
