The Rockville Centre NY Little League will officially open its 63rd season on April 6, 2013, continuing a long tradition in Rockville Centre NY. The parade will step off at 10 a.m. from South Side Middle School, up Maple Avenue to Hickey Field where the ceremonies will take place
This year's ceremonies will also honor local Rockville Centre veterans. Any local veteran that wants to march with the players are invited to join them at the middle school at 9:45 a.m. If a veteran cannot march they are invited to join them on the field at Hickey.
In addition the League will sponsor its 3rd Annual Food Collection Drive and all parade participants and spectators are asked to bring an item of non-perishable food to donate to local food pantries.
