Trailside Nature and Science Center at 452 New Providence Road in Mountainside offers hikes, stories, and activities for toddlers, 2 and 3 year olds, and 4-6 year olds every week. The cost is $10 per Union County family, $12 for out of county families.
2-3 year olds are welcome on Thursdays and Fridays at 9:30 am.
3-4 year olds are wlecome on Tuesday at 1:30 pm and Wednesday at 10am.
4-6 year olds are welcome on Tuesdays at 9:45 am and 3:30 pm and on Wednesdays at 1:15 pm.
During the week of April 15-19, children are invited to "A Camping We Will Go!" At this program, children will learn about the items they would need to bring along on a camping trip. Take a nature walk and visit a camping site, go inside a tent, and listen to a story around a real camp fire.
