Time for Festivals in Franklin North Carolina | Things to do in Franklin, NC
Trail Days kick off 2013 Appalachian Trail Season here in Franklin, NC for the towns 1st. Festival. April Fools Trail Days is on Saturday, March 30th with a day long event downtown Franklin. Featuring displays, workshops, live entertainment, fun & food and more. AT hikers come from all over and are a big part of our tourism each year. Learn more at the Nantahala Hiking Club here.
Franklin, NC is the first town to receive the designation called Appalachian Trail Gateway Community and it was perfect to include the 5 year running April Fools Trail Days to this event.
The Hiker Bash hosted by Ronnie Haven at Sapphire Inn on East Main Street is a great place to connect and share stories and advice and fill up on some good eats. The Hiker Bash will begin at 6:00 p.m. each evening. AT trail here in Franklin is part of the 2,181 mile hiking trail stretching from Georgia to Maine. Saturday's event starts at 10:00 am where you can connect with National Vendors of hiking gear, take educational workshops and see exhibits.
