Houston Public Library Bargain Book Sale
The Houston Public Library held it's 35th annual bargain book sale March 22 through March 24th.
This event is open to the members of friends of the public library one day in advance. Membership can be purchased each year starting at $25. Sunday was bag day which means a big grocery paper bag stuffed full of books will only cost you $10. There will be another children's books sale in October. I plan to be at that all three days of that event.
We managed to squeeze in two hours of this event and walked out with four bags of second-grade books for my daughter who's going to be a teacher.
For me and my husband it was like Christmas. We are avid book readers and we have to cull our library every year because of the amount of books we can accumulate on a weekly basis.
Below are some of the books I had to have.
Houston has a very large variety of things to do each weekend of the 52 allotted per year.
This weekend there was a fun run, the Buffalo Bayou Art Festival, the Gun Show, the Antique Show, and the Houston Public Library Bargain Book Sale event, to name a few.
Sussie you do such a great job at keeping up with all the local events. No wonder you are the agent everyone calls for real estate in the Friendswood, Clear Lake, Pearland, Webster, City of League City and the Houston Bay Area!!
Sussie, An excellent way to buy your reading material and help out the Library. This is the first time I have heard of the Houston Library doing a used book sale. Thanks for the tip..
Thanks for your comment about the old sly fox who outsmarted me as Yolanda and I both laughed..
Kathy! I bet you are a whole lot of fun to hang with! One day...
Bob: I just love children's books. I am having a hard time not keeping them for myself!
Sussie,
Another thing we have in common! I love love to read, I just cannot go to the library I used to as a kid but my mom was germaphobic and now I cannot read a used book unless I know the previous owner! LOL! I hope you have a Happy Easter my friend!
Most of these books appear brand new. One was torn but we got it anyway. Will have it repaired. I read two of them to my great grand kids this morning.
