NOTE: This is only relevant if you pay for Realtor.com Showcase Listing Enhancements. If you do not pay for them, and don't want to, you can move along. My brokerage subsidizes Showcase Listing Enhancements and enables me to have them for my listings for a relatively small monthly fee.
Whether you like the way Realtor.com is managed or not, I do like having all the listing enhancements to benefit my sellers. It's all part of my marketing program. I know there are some strong feelings against Realtor.com's additional services and I totally respect that (and agree with most of the folks who dislike the fees involved for what should be STANDARD). But enough of that. I have a little tip I stumbled upon today.
I just commented on a blog on AOL Real Estate... As a curiosity, I did a search on their site (
realestate.aol.com) to see what comes up in Hawley, one of my main areas of service. Check out my listing on Page 6, Daniels Road:
Guess how I got it to display "Call Karen Rice,
570-647-5170?"
Through Realtor.com Listing Showcase Enhancements.
With every listing, we are allowed to have a "ticker message" of two different phrases flash on Realtor.com. I was at a conference a couple years ago sponsored by Realtor.com; they told us to put our name and contact info as one of the "lines" allowed. Usually, however, I do not make it the FIRST line, but from now on I will, because AOL.com real estate displays the first line of the ticker!!! How cool is that?
Don't be like the one below me, that says "Prowl Chalet" ha ha ha ha...be careful of typos!
I'm going to go back and update all of mine to have my name and phone number first.
