Pearland Crawfish FestivalThe countdown has begun for a local favorite! The Pearland Crawfish Festival will be held next weekend, April 5th through 7th just outside Shadow Creek Ranch at the corner of Discovery Bay and Business Center Blvd.

This annual event started as a small local festival and has grown to include more vendors, rides and games than ever before! Tickets are being offered at a discount if purchased before the event. Click the link to buy tickets for the Pearland Crawfish Festival. Tickets cost $5 per adult (13 and up) if bought in advance and 7$ per adult if bought the day of show. Children 12 and under and Active Military with Current I.D. are FREE! This reasonably priced event creates a good excuse to grab some friends and go enjoy some fantastic entertainment and Cajun food!

Entertainment will be top-notch and will include live music, carnival games and more. There will be 2 stages with live music from local bands. The third stage will be the games stage and will feature Splash Dogs (dock diving dogs, you have to check this one out), crawfish eating contests and more. There will be tons of games, rides and activities for kids of all ages!

And then there's the food, ah yes, the food! I LOVE Cajun food. So, the crawfish, the real draw, will be cooked to perfection by a caterer called Swamp Shack Catering (from Crazy Alan's Swamp Shack in Kemah, awesome restaurant) and will be sold at $3.50per pound. You can certainly grab a few pounds of the crawfish, but I also HIGHLY recommend something called a Pistolette. If you haven't tasted this yummy cajun treat, you are missing out! This treat starts out as a roll which is then stuffed with cajun yummies such as a crawfish mixture with spices and cheese, ground beef and rice or other spicy mixtures and is then deep-fried to a perfect golden brown. Picture those tasty soft rolls from the cafeteria in school stuffed with cheese and something resembling crawfish etouffe. Okay, I'm drooling already, time to move on!

There will also be a full range of carnival treats including bbq, funnel cakes and tons of other goodies for those of you who aren't fans of cajun food. Whether it's the food, music, or friends that bring you to the Crawfish Festival, I'm sure you will be glad you went! The Crawfish Festival will be open from 11:00am-10:00pm on Friday, April 5th and Saturday, April 6th and from 11:00am-6:00 pm on Sunday. There is parking on-site for a fee (amount not disclosed on their web-site). The fee will go to the Friends of Pearland Westside Library. See you at the Crawfish Festival!
