THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME

I Remember the thought of buying my first home. I was newly engaged and planning a wedding wondering where my husband and I would call home. At that time in the year 1994 the real estate market was so I thought "HIGH." The average price for a small 3 bed 1 bth home was approx 80,000. So we jumped in like many young people do and bought our first home. This home was what  many would call a "FIXER",  but we didnt mind because to us it was ours, and we knew we could make it a doll house. That was an exciting time and scary too. Our mortagage payment was $776.00, and boy did we think we were stretched. We probably were, but looking back 14 years later what we thought was "HIGH" is now even higher. So with that I speak to those who are sitting on the fence wondering if the market is at the bottom. Wondering if they should invest thier hard earned money into real estate. Real estate is one of the best places to put your money . It is very much like a savings account. Ever month you have to pay your mortgage payment and sometimes it is even easier to do then to put money in your savings account. . It also has the potiential to earn more money then 2% like most savings accounts will give you. Think about this the next time you are looking for a home. Look for the one in a great neighborhood that might need alittle elbow greese. Maybe it needs paint or carpet. Dont let that scare you. You can do it, and when you move in, the house that needed work will now have equity. That is MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your MONEY. Good Luck and go for it. Now is a great time to purchase a home,

Hi Kristen,

Welcome to Active Rain.  You will find this community a great resource of information and a forum for you to share your knowledge and experience with your target market.

Yes... I think real estate always seems high, but it's still a great investment.  It can be cyclic, of course, so it's important to watch the market and make a good buy.  There are some excellent opportunities in the market now with the slowdown across the country.

And, I concur, please don't use all caps.  It's very difficult to read and is consider edyelling in the cyber world.
