Why does billions of dollars go out of this country per year? What do we get in return? We are trying to purchase respect instead of earning it and to keep the enemy of our enemy as our friend. Why doesn't Congress trim this down to a budget that we do not exceed. Who decides how much goes where, for what and to whom. Do we even check up on it?
MONEY GOES OUT..WHAT COMES IN?
We send money out of this country for two reasons. First, is National Security. So Israel gets billions per year plus military support in the form of weapons and technology. We send Egypt money to show them that working with us is better than not. A few other countries get a few billions here or there as well
MOST GENEROUS WITH OUR MONEY
The second reason we send money out of this country is to help others because they are struggling and need help. Africa gets aid in food, medical and education as well as other third world countries. Frequently we find that the aid isn't getting to the people and there is nothing we can do about it. So we keep sending them money?
WE PAY TO PLAY
We actually pay some countries so that they don't grow and manufacture drugs which are then sent into this country. These tactics we employ are cheaper than sending in the military. It cost close to a $500,000 dollars a day to operate one of our AIRCRAFT CARRIERS..you know those floating cities that are equipped to reign some serious hell on our enemies. It is cheaper and quicker to just send money.
40 BILLION A YEAR GOES OUT
The point being that the money we send over there somewhere can be put to very good use here. I am tired of hearing that Americans go without anything. We pay into the system all our lives and if we need to draw from it, so be it. We should come first in my opinion.
WE HAVE A LEAKAGE PROBLEM
There is so much leakage in our government which is one of the reasons why we are in debt. The other is we just don't over spend, but over spend foolishly. If you did this on a family or per person basis, you would not survive. If businesses did this, they would go belly up. Our government does this and gets away with this
Somehow the government thinks it can defy the rules of common sense financial responsibility. How does thinking like this get started or even keep going for that matter?
