Some Out of the Box Ideas for Coloring Easter Eggs.
The real colored Easter Eggs are the hardboiled decorated kind and children enjoy the activity of making them look really special. Please remember that eggs need to be refrigerated like any other food product and are not to be let out for extended periods of time. The traditional ways of decorating are to buy a kit at the store or to dig into the kitchen cabinets and pull out the food coloring and a little vinegar and dye them yourselves. I know from experience that this works and you can use simple decorations like crayons, markers, stickers and sparkles.
If you use a crayon to color the egg before the coloring process, the crayon wax will keep the color from absorbing and it will be a reverse coloring. Children really like this. Remember to use food safe colors and only non toxic coloring applications. I like to add glitter or stickers to make them look really different and special.
