Thank You Bryan!!

star five points goldenYou have given everyone very valuable information! If I need to write to any other AR members or to another agent via a website, I just want to write - not fill out a contact form!

In addition, I hate CAPTCHA. Studies have shown (I am told) that the “bad guys” already can circumvent the CAPTCHA “firewall” altogether!

Have a happy day -
Lynn

Well, we've got two articles this morning on the ability to find the email address of an agent.  Since we're in sales and accessibility is important, hiding your email - in my opinion - is just plain silly.  Security is NOT an issue as the hacker, if determined, can get your email without using a Google search.  There are ways to manage SPAM for the occassional "bot" that gets your address - so stop hiding.  Being found by other agents and consumers is important.  If you, as an agent or consumer, need to find a real estate agent's email address here is my simple tip:

GOOGLE:  {agent first name} {agent last name} realtor email {the word "address" - optional}

EXAMPLE:  bryan robertson realtor email

EXAMPLE:  bryan robertson real estate email address

You can see in the photo that I ran a search of my own name and found my current email address in the cached data for entry 7.  That means my real address is seen on Page 1.  Since I WANT people to find me and send me messages, this is a good thing.  In fact, I had an old client who didn't know I had changed companies - she found me in seconds and sent an email.

In the case of an agent who isn't a REALTOR, just remove that word from the search.  In most cases, you'll find some reference to the agents email address somewhere in a link on page 1 or 2.  If you have a company name for the agent, add that so you don't get similar names in other geographic areas.  Common names tend to turn up more results so being specific is a good way to avoid a mistake.  You can sometimes replace the word "REALTOR" with "real estate" and that helps, especially for names similar to celebrities (it happens).

Remember, to find an agents email address you just need:

  • Agent name
  • The word "REALTOR"
  • The word "email"
  • Sometimes include "address" at the end

Those suggestions work sometimes and sometimes they don't. Some agents specialize in being "secret" agents. Personally I want to make it simple as possible to get in contact. After all consumers are skittish enough in the beginning. Don't give them a reason to go elsewhere.
