Is Your Job Controlling You?

Bigger, better, faster, more.

Nothing is ever enough.

Where is the finish line?  The cemetary?

I'll sleep when I die?  I plan on sleeping tonight, thank you.

Every new year we set new goals for ourselves and every year we tend to want to do BETTER than we did last year.  Of course, we all want to be the very best we can be at what we do, but who are we ultimately in competition with?

Who's goals are you chasing?  Are you chasing your own goals or are you allowing the achievements of others to dictate what your goals are?  Keeping up with the Joneses is no way to live.

I coach agents who want to do anywhere from 5 to 10 settlements per month because that's what they need to be happy with their success.  I coach agents who want 2 to 3 settlements per month because that's what they need to be happy with their success.

Don't let competition control you.  Competition is healthy and spicy, but ultimately you're only in competition with yourself.  What level of success will truly make you happy...and why?

What drives you to succeed is ultimately what will determine your level of happiness.   If the only thing driving you is the desire to be better than someone else, chances are your job is controlling you.
