New Yorker's and Tourist please be mindful about your Metrocards

While traveling to Yankee Stadium yesterday I was surprised (or not so much) to find that the MTA has yet again found another way to increase the fees for riders.  All I have to say is enough already, it's rediculus.  New Yorker's and Tourist please be mindful of your Metrocards when riding the NYC Bus and Subways systems. Do not throw away your Metrocard after you use it for you will be charged $1.00 every time you need to acquirer a new one.  It does not sound like a lot of money but it will add up if you have to keep replacing it.

Word to the wise

Good advice Laura, those dollars add up.....especially when the subway and buses are the main mode of transportation.

Laura, I also have to reclaim money on my current Metro Card because it has an expiration date.

Hi Laura, I havent been to the big apple for a while, we used to go often to take my son to Mt Sinai and it was always fun to see how far we could get around town in the few afternoons that we had free for touristing.  I think that I may still have my metrocard.

Laura, I had no idea they would do that, but I guess since it's a revenue stream, it's going to be used.
