Red Sox: TWO    Yankees:  ZERO @ Yankee Stadium of all places!

Ok In all fairness I understand that Baseball Season is long and things can change in a heartbeat. I also understand that this is what the the Doctor ordered for Red Sox Nation. After the dismal performance under the poor leadership of Bobby Valentine (who is now Athletic Director of Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT) the Red Sox have a 2 and 0 victory over the Evil Empire!

Yes I hear the excuses, A ‘Rod is injured, Teschera is injured, Jeter is injured….yes these are acceptable excuses if you are a Yankee fan. The reality is this was done in Yankee Stadium of all places.

I really believe that the Red Sox have new life in them and everyone feeds of that energy and everyone is in good spirits. Anyway I am not ready to bring in the Broom yet but let us see what tomorrow brings!

Looking forward to an energetic Red Sox team under their new leader John Farrell and keep in mind, this is the first time since 1999 the Red Sox are 2:0 for the season! As a lifelong fan of the Red Sox I really enjoyed seeing an empty stadium as the 7th inning was starting…

Hi Endre, At least you have found excuses that are feasible for a close game. I am not sure the padres losing the season opener has much to fall back on. They will improve I am sure but it was an 11 and 2 game opener.

Hi Endre, My Mariners were undefeated before tonight too, at least up to about an hour ago. It's a long season, 162 games, so let's watch to see what develops.

Dan I agree it is a long Season but keep in mind Red Sox Yankees is like Play Off ....there is a long history of rivalry between the two clubs and this is quite unusual:))

I'm surprised MLB had these 2 face off to start the season ? The Yankees are looking old and like a sub .500 team . The Red Soxes will go as far as their starting pitching carries them !

Endure-Yankees and Red Sox one of the best rivalries in the American League. I've followed the National League and my favorite there is Cardinal-Cubs.

Michael I agree with you in general when it comes to baseball...but when it comes to the Yankees NOW THAT IS ANOTHER STORY:)))

Michael RedSox Yankees are a huge draw especially after the sub par manager the RedSox had it creates a buzz:))
