HOMES SOLD IN THE POCONOS FOR MARCH 2013

 

The Number of Homes sold in the Poconos during March was 153.  Of this 153 homes, 56 of them were foreclosures, approximately 36.5%, less than last months 39% at least.  As you know, a 36.5% sold foreclosure rate is not a number we like to see.

 

The good news is that 153 homes sold in the Poconos for March of 2013 is 6% higher than the 143 homes sold in the Poconos for February of 2012. The Number of Homes being sold in the Poconos continues to stay on the rise!

 

The Average Sold Price of homes sold in the Poconos for March of 2013 was $135k. This Average Sold Price is 2% below the average sold price of $138 for homes sold in the Poconos for February 2012, which is good news to since the last 2 months has been much lower than that.

Hi Bobbie, I have always found the Pocono market to be one of the most dynamic in our area.  From speculators, to New Yorkers & New Jerseyers, to vacation home buyers.  It is good to see prices and volume begin to rise.  I imagine that foreclosures still need to be resolved in your market.  I look forward to reading your next report.
