Big day yesterday. Don't you wish the Blue Ridge Parkway was in your backyard?
Yesterday was a new chapter in the battle of the squirrel, can't believe I ever thought THEY were cute! All of Brent's fortifications seem to held up and there appeared to be no new forays into the guest cottage's attic space. I have spied the little rascal inhabiting the den formerly occupied by the groundhog. What a concept! Forest critters living in the forest...works for me.
Brent and I worked together to replace the insulation in the cottage. This time Brent went into the crawlspace and my job was to pass the insulation up to him. Imagine my glee when I realized I wouldn't have to spend my day crawling on the 2x4's crouched over for a couple of hours. Wasn't I a happy camper to realize I would get to stay out in the fresh air and simply hand Brent the insulation? Yep. Happy Camper. At least up until the twelfth trip up the ladder balancing, twisting and shoving the insulation through the tiny opening. Did I mention we had to put 34 pieces of insulation in the attic?
A couple of hours later we were finished and Brent gratefully went on to enjoy the spectacularly beautiful mountain day. I showered, grabbed some lunch and 34 aspirins, one for each trip ;-D and convinced Leslie and the Office Manager to take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
One of my favorite things to do on the Parkway is to approach people taking pictures of each other and offer to take photos of the whole group. They're happy and I'm happy. Doing that gives me a chance to interact with people I don't know who are full of joy to be in the extraordinary place I get to call home. So, yesterday was excellent...productive AND I got to do what I love best, taking photos and talking to people. Remember...it IS all about me ;-D
