Hi Mary,

How did your fundraiser go? I'm doing my first team for the Livonia Relay For Life and we're just getting started.

The fundraiser was great! I'll keep you posted!

One of our fundraisers was an auction.  At the auction we raised $2500.  We are currently running another fundraiser in conjunction with Maggie Moo's Ice Cream & Treatry.  For every Dream Cake sold, Relay will receive $5, AS LONG AS THE CUSTOMER MENTIONS RELAY.  I'll let you know how that turns out.

This sounds like great fun! I'd like to help with the local relay for life here in MN! Awesome way to give back.

Mary,

What kind of auction did you do that brought in so much money? It's been a challenge getting things started!

Our auction was at our real estate office after our sales mtg. We also provided lunch for $3/pp and opened the auction up to realtors outside our office.

Donated items were from the realtors and then I solicited items from home inspectors, hair stylists, etc from our area.  The realtors themselves donated the majority of items including baked goods, gift cards etc.  We opened the auction to nice reusable items as well.  But the two big ticket items were a 4 day weekend at my cottage (raised $290) and a 2 night stay at the Grand Hotel (raised $540).  I was fortunate enough that I was working with a buyer who is employed at the Grand Hotel and donated the 2 night stay.  We have some fantastic chefs in our office and one of them is known for his home made lasagna-that sold for $110/twice!  We raised about $1000 over last year and I believe it was because of the trips.  If your office does broker opens, an idea would be to auction off a meal for broker open......

I hope this helps.  This is my first time as team leader and I know I am missing a lot.....I still don't have team members signed up....

Good Luck!
