Tall Tales from St Patrick's Cathedral!
A young family, on a tour of New York City, was visiting St Patrick’s Cathedral. As they viewed the Cathedral, the children were in awe.
The kids were especially curious about the votive candles in the devotional area. The young girl saw others lighting the candles and the tour guide asked if she and her brother would like to light one.
The kids were excited so the guide explained that is it customary to say a prayer of petition or thanks, and the guide was careful to tell them that these are not like birthday candles.
“Do you have any questions?” the guide asked.
“No,” said the five-year-old, “but if there’s a pony outside, it’s mine.”
