Have you ever asked youself: What does it take to be a champion? Why am I not achieving the results that I desire? What is holding me back?

Chances are that you have. It is very likely that you also have a goal, a vision, maybe even a written mission statement. I know that at this very moment I have several written goals, but I can't always remember each one clearly. It is sometimes easier for me to focus on what I don't want, rather than what I do want.

To bring my desire into focus it is essential to have a single purpose. Something that relates to those various goals, but is really the underlying value. Then I focus on that value. How much do I want to reach that goal? Does it consume my thoughts? Do I have each detail of the benefit, the payoff, for achieving that value scripted out? Then I ask myself, when does the planning end and the doing begin? (Those who are busy doing often don't realize they are champions, they didn't plan to be a champion.)

Have plans and goals, but don't waste effort planning when you could be doing what needs to be done to achieve the goal. Be a champion by taking the steps to do what needs to be done each day. Listen to those values deep in your heart and make good decisions because you are a champion, don't try to be one. Remind yourself of all the good. Focus on serving and helping. Don't worry a second about tomorrow or regret the mistakes that got you here.

Doing comes from knowing who you are. Be a champion and you will do what champions do.
