Heart Attack Snow

By

This winter has been one of the snowiest in our records.

I exercise daily by shoveling the driveway. This morning's snow started as sleet and froze. Then heavy wet snow fell on top of that. Ugh. Cold too.

I learned many years ago to shovel this type of snow very carefully. Because it's so wet, it's very heavy. You have to take small shovel fulls. And you don't try to do too much or as many people will tell you, it's a heart attack in the making.

Of course, after shoveling all winter, I guess that I've built up my muscles! But, I'm not reckless, so I just do what I can.

So glad that I'm not out showing today. Did that last year in a blizzard and it was no fun.

Wow.  Your blog made me realize how we really haven't had much snow here in New York for the past few years.

Yes ... my normal 20 minute commute from office to home was over an hour today!  SE Michigan is getting nailed and we are certainly paying for the last 5 or so mild winters.  I just stared out at the 6+ inches in my drive, now being sleeted on.  Ready for Spring!

Hi Elaine - we've gotten clobbered here in my areas along the coast of New Hampshire this year, and we're not liking it too much.  We usually get only about 25-30 inches of snow for the whole winter, and we'd already had more than that before winter was officially here.  And it just keeps on coming.  We're supposed to get 10-15 inches of snow tonight and tomorrow morning - ughhhhh......................
