I have been researching the purchasing of a dog for months now and narrowed it down to one choice. There were many choices that came up all of them good too. You can take these little quizzes they have online just by typing in the words.... How to choose a dog. I have owned dogs before and enjoyed their company. Now, I am getting ready to go again
CHOOSE A GOOD BREEDER
I researched my breed carefully and even went to visit with someone who has this type of dog which is called visiting in the fur. I was impressed and investigated further. I found out that when buying a pup from a breeder, one should concentrate more on the breeder than the dog itself. You see how the pup is allowed to be introduced into the world plays an important part in establishing its behavior and in bringing out its breed potential. Things like keeping the pups indoors and around family, handling them, exposing them to noises, people and other pets all help to form the pups health and demeanor
BREEDER INVESTIGATES ME TOO
The breeder I am investigating doesn't release pups until they are 8 weeks old because of the code of ethics of the licensed club she joined. The club has very high standards and the certified and vetted breeders follow them and then some. I found a good breeder..I requested a male, black with appropriate masking, emphasis and color with health checked parents and grand parents with a dominant personality but not aggressive. Now the breeder has spent time with me asking me questions to try to understand how I think and act plus lifestyle, and quite a few other criteria....Why would she do this?
GOOD MATCH
This guarantees as nearly as possible a good fit with pet and pet owner. What she learned was that you can research the breed, discover many different attributes and then narrow down your choice so that the next 12-15 years makes for a friendship made in heaven for both. Many dogs develop behaviors that owners were not prepared for making them prone to be abandoned, sold or given away afterwards
ON HIS WAY TO THE PROMISED LAND
When the pups become more active, they will be tested for sound, awareness, shyness, aggressiveness and other things. My breeder is literally hands on and enjoys this with all her heart...Finally, my dog PHARAOH will be shipped to me via the airlines and I have agreed to allow his brother who is going to a fellow Californian to travel with my pup to lessen the stress. My dog is going to PUP heaven but doesn't know this yet
HERE PHARAOH
PHARAOH (my pup)...This breed of dog called a Canaan dog comes from Israel originally and can be traced back to the time of the Egyptians as even evidenced by drawings and artifacts. It is a coveted and scarce breed of dog and not for everyone. See breed traits below
