Edmond is such a great place to live! But after the winter months, our community needs a little sprucing up. And here’s your chance to help!

April 20th (next Saturday) is Edmond’s Annual Operation Clean Streets event, sponsored by Edmond Beautiful and the City of Edmond. This is in conjunction with the state-wide Trash-Off Day, which is sponsored by the Beautification Office of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

This spring clean-up event is an excellent opportunity for families, church groups, civic clubs and organizations to make a difference in the appearance of our city. Event sponsors will provide coffee and donuts for volunteers as well as prizes for the most unusual trash picked up during the event.

Volunteers meet at 8:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the city’s NEW Administration Building which is located at 7 N. Broadway, across from Citizens Bank of Edmond. The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will end at noon.

The City of Edmond Solid Waste department will be collecting tires from residential Edmond customers in the parking lot of the Administration Building. Conditions for tire collection include no tires with rims, no tires from dealerships, salvage yards, service stations, forklifts, off-road vehicles, heavy machinery, agricultural vehicles, tractors, or backhoes, etc.

This year, there will also be an e-waste collection in the parking lot. E-waste consists of TV’s, VCR’s, computers, etc.

To volunteer or for more information, call the City of Edmond Public Works at 216-7770.
