Delay Of Game Called Because The Umpires Are Stuck In DC Traffic

By
Real Estate Agent with Integrity Real Estate Group

Umpires Forgot To Call CJ Realty GroupEarlier this week the Washington Nationals baseball game got off to a late start.  The reason?  The Umps were stuck in traffic.  No really it's true.

I'm not 100% sure where they may have been coming from but if they had called me they would have known the best Northern Virginia commuting options to get to the stadium from home.   My guess is they decided to drive into DC during rush hour instead of taking the Metro to the Navy Yard and making the 1 block walk to the stadium.

If they came into DC via the train they could have grabbed the circular route Metro Bus that leaves Union Station every ten minutes to the Navy Yard.  However deciding to drive into DC during rush hour is always going to get you snarled in traffic and you need to plan well in advance to get to your destination.

Understanding how to get from Northern Virginia into DC for my clients is one of the main reasons I ask where you are going to work before we head out house hunting.  Knowing your options so you aren't late for work or a Washington Nationals game should be one of the first questions you ask before you head out the door.

If you are looking to buy a home in Northern Virginia with multiple commuting options to DC give Cindy Jones and CJ Realty Group a call at 703-346-2213.  We've been driving the local roads, using the metro, the commuter rail and slug lines for a long time.

You ARE the resource for Northern Virigina. I've been iin that DC traffic at rush hour and it is killer. Knowing the ways to get around efficiently is a terrific bonus to offer your clients, especially those not familar with the area or making a move toan area they are not familiar with.

I liked the seque from umpires to the main point of your post!!

You should be the manager for the umpires. They have no valid excuses.

Jeff-when you come in for NAR mid-year the only way to get around is Metro or Taxi's no sense trying to drive if you don't need to.

Roy I can't imagine why they couldn't get to the game on time.  Maybe they should be required to report a few hours ahead of the game.

William-it's rare that I can't navigate the area and know rush hour is not the time to get stuck in DC.

Hi Cindy! I was just having this DC/VA traffic discussion this morning, as a friend of mine was stuck in the 10 mile backup on 95 yesterday. She was only FOUR miles back from the accident, not near the back.

The umps should be required to be there early. The players, staff, and others are -- they should be, too.

Marney I was surprised that they didn't need to report to the game a few hours before the first pitch.  Learned something new.
