 I learn something new every day at ActiveRain!  With this series I try to highlight one post per day that gave me that “lightbulb” moment.  It could be something techie, about Real Estate, about a place or person!

April 7:  Merline Pennant      Things You Need to Know When Buying in an HOA.

I learned more about HOA’s after I moved to South Florida but there’s always something that comes up that surprises me.  Make sure you and your buyers are aware of how HOA dues and rules could affect them.

We’re all accustomed to AR 30 in 30 contests that we forget there are other platforms/groups that also have challenges.    I started posting every day after an AR challenge and have not stopped-partly because it’s good to do and partly because I’m afraid that if I stop for even one day I may not start again.  If you’re interested in video blogging take a look at this post.

We don’t like to think about it but we do have to be alert and aware to predators.  Mike offers us a video and some good tips.  The video is somewhat disturbing but these things can and do happen.  I encourage you to take a few minutes and watch the video  and read Mike’s tips.

I thought Pamela was talking about video but this is for slideshows which we all like.  take a look at Slideshare if you’re considering adding some “oomph” to your blog.

 

 

April 10:  Margaret Rome     Theo Has His Team- Team Theo

This has been a week full of ActiveRain MeetUps with the focus on seeing photos of AR members  and enjoying everyone’s stories.  But, leave it to Margaret Rome to bump it up a notch.  Maybe it’s something we could all consider doing.

 

April 11:  Ron & Alexandra Seigel     Irises/Messenger of the Gods.

Ah-ha moments don’t always come from tech news, software or Real Estate but often from learning about everyday things.  As they say... take a moment to smell the roses/irises.

 

 

April 12:  Dorie Dillard   Foodie Friday 4-12-13

Dorie’s Friday Foodie posts are always a favorite of mine, especially since I’m from Texas but this week she introduces us to a new segment called “Coming Soon”.  Caution... DO NOT read her post if you haven’t eaten yet!!!   And what I learned was the origin of “Coal Fired” pizza.

 

April 13:  Gary Waters    Called Shots, Comments, Posts and an Occasional Feature Add Up.

Some institutions and people are our rocks and by that I mean like solid, always there.  Gary Waters is a polished gem.  And this post reminded me that  it’s often good to step back and access ourselves and what we’re doing here.  Read his post, then go to your own stats to see how you match up... maybe not with him but match up with where you want to be.
