Am I having heart burn, or is it chest pain...how do you know what that feeling in your chest is?  Is it just stress???

In this market, one would hope it's stress, but never ever self-diagnose in this situation.  Cardiac issues can occur in many way's....It affect's women differently than men.  Heaviness in the chest, pain in the neck and jaw, pain in the back, shortness of breath, rapid pulse, dizziness, all needs evaluated by your personal physician.

I am writing about this because, the market is slow, selling is difficult and many agents are having a rough time dealing with their "normal" - or used to be a normal - job...as a real estate agent/sales associate/Realtor(R).

Geeze you can go with the old fashioned antidote for indigestion...eat a few radishes or do the common thing...a big spoon full of maalox...or you can eat a hand full of almonds...dry roasted or raw work...HOWEVER! If these home remedies don't work, Call your physician during the day or show up in his office...or better yet...go to the ER.

Don't take chances with your health...the market is rough, many agents are stressed out...don't right the stress off if you don't feel well...get checked out...the market is not worth your life...Life goes on...hopefully with you!

HOW DO YOU FEEL STRESS? HOW DO YOU HANDLE THE STRESS? HAVE ADVICE? PLEASE SHARE IT!

Exercise is the best thing. It's easy to forget, but a regular workout will help the body do what it does best when fighting off stress.

Ross,

Very, very good point!  It also gives you back energy! Thanks so much for pointing that out!

HOWEVER, If you have not exercised regularly and are over the age of 40 and overweight, have a physical and clearance from your physician before starting an exercise program, better to be safe than sorry!

I am one big ball of stress and I work best under stress :)  I handle it by solving the problem and moving on to the next !

For heartburn, I use a tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar.  Works like a charm!  I'm using it in salad dressing since it tastes pretty nasty to glug down.

Nice.  I try to work out to relieve the stress.  I don't get heart burn yet.  So I would be really worried if my chest hurt.

Jeff,

I used to work out...I have been so busy I don't even have time to breathe...NOT complaining though. I have been on the phone almost 10 hours a day this week every day...It got to the point where I lost my voice for a while this morning...working an executed contract, so not complaining...but geeze... :-)

Take a deep breath and relax.  Close eyes. Think about how great the next real estate cycle will be. Just picture those sellers and buyers lined up at your office.  Those big fat cheks.

Now back to earth.... Take Prylosec before you start your day. And again at night if needed. Start a routine and you won't need antacids.  Always be prospecting for business . It is there.. look.

Trey,

Too funny!  I have had an anaphylactic reaction to prilosec...

I'm busy as heck, so it's all good!  Been working 10 - 12 hour days for the last two weeks...My parents are here in South Florida from PA and can vouch for me...they keep asking me..."should I call you on the phone if I want to talk to you?"  "Geeze, everyone else does?" and they're in my living room...LMAOROF!

 But...busy, true!

Thanks for posting. Karen

Stress is EVERYWHERE lately...I work well under stress but it does cause some symptoms of what could be a heart attack...chest pain, etc. Stress can also affect the nervous system and can cause depression.  I have myself checked out by my regular doctor twice a year..I do this religiously...I also see a heart specialist (at my doctors suggestion) every two to three years.  Prevention is the name of the game.

Karen, I know, lucky you! Today in Michigan we have gusting winds up to 30-40 miles per hour and a wind chill of -20 degrees with a temperature of 5 degrees. Feel bad for us yet?? :-) Send heat!

Duane,

OMGoodness, I remember a year in PA when my children were young when I snowed, sleeted or rained every Wednesday - back in 92 or 93... I lived in the mountains and we were stuck without electicity for 3 days...with company who after dinner couldn't get out to get home. So 6 adults 7 kids, a woodstove, and a generator...It was fun though...cooking on the wood stove was a challenge as we had to burn it hot to stay warm...could only let the kids out for about 20 minutes at a time...hung them by the woodstove to try and put some moisture back into the dry air!

The temperatures we're close to zero and the wind chills sometimes at 30 below zero...

I feel for you a little...My parent's are visiting until 2/20.  I'll bottle some warm air up for you and send it along...

The reason I left PA was b/c I don't like the cold...GEEZE! WE ARE GIVING HOMES AWAY IN FLORIDA!!! COME ON DOWN!

:-)

Karen, those are memories that you will never forget. Although the warm Florida weather will certainly help you.

My parents live in Bradenton in have been saying how beautiful the weather has been. Of course I think he watches the weather channel and sees if it's a small blizzard up here before he calls and "rubs" it in.

The wife and I honeymooned in your area, we love it!

Duane,

I know Bradenton well as I use to travel to Tampa all the time when I worked in the medical field...travelled to Bradenton as well...beautiful area.

If you're ever coming down I would love to get together for dinner...I'll get Matt, Barbara, Neil, and as many other AR local's as I can find...It would be great!

Karen, that would be excellent, would love to meet all of you. We were hoping to make the trip this winter, but slow sales have grounded us here in paradise. Most likely be next year now, argh.

I like Bradenton, but we like the east side a little better.

Bradenton is more for the 55+ folks, many communities are geared to that as are the social activities and surroundings...

I bought a house in Chrystal River in the early 90's  the area was beautiful, but I missed the ocean...sold it...shouldn't have as it was on a canal really close to 3 Sister Springs...people come from all over the world to scubba dive there.

 I love the east side...

I NEED TO YOU TO THINK POSITIVE GOOD KARMA AND GOOD SELLING IN 2008!!!!  I want you to have a productive spring!  I'm going to... I'll find those buyers...or they'll find me - SOMEHOW!!!

After all if 1 in 16 people have to relocate or buy a new home this year...hey, I'm available to help you and homes are quite cheap in Florida right now...

Hey, I have a thought Duane...want to move here?????  :-)

Karen, I love the person who asks for the sale! Great job. With the grand kids and kids all here in cold country were gonna be "stuck" here for awhile.

I stepped out of the selling side and am concentrating on marketing the new program we created. It's been a challenge to get everyone to think outside the box.

Here's to positive thoughts to change the selling, into great selling for ya! Let's hope it starts soon.
