Not a favorite question for many entering and going beyond “boomerhood”
but, even if it is hard to think about, here is a serious question to consider:
Wouldn't it be nice
to be able to stay in your own home
rather than in a nursing home?
Trends in Home Design
More and more of our older adult clients here in Asheville, NC are leading the way when it comes to buying/selling/remodeling their homes with "aging-in-place" in mind.
We are looking at trends in home design and a future that holds many new possibilities.
In fact, we have been scouting for gorgeous home upgrades that will fit a sense of aesthetic appeal and budget. (see earlier post for example of grab bar.)
Families seem to be loving the idea of living in a forever home. It is an attractive choice. However, if it is your choice- aging-in-place
( at home ) does require planning.
3 Important Questions
What choices are necessary to bring you to your "castle" and the experience of AGING-IN-PALACE © ? Start by asking three simple questions-
1) What turns a dwelling place into a home that can work for a family over many years?
2) How will that home "look and feel" in later life?
3) How can a home work for those who live there, regardless of age or physical ability?
