Not a favorite question for many entering and going beyond “boomerhood”
but, even if it is hard to think about, here is  a serious question to consider:

Wouldn't it be nice
to be able to stay in your own home
rather than in a nursing home?

Trends in Home Design

More and more of our older adult clients here in Asheville, NC are leading the way when it comes to buying/selling/remodeling their homes with "aging-in-place" in mind.

We are looking at trends in home design and a future that holds many new possibilities.

In fact, we have  been scouting for gorgeous home upgrades that will fit a sense of aesthetic appeal and budget. (see earlier post for example of grab bar.)

Families seem to be  loving the idea of living in a forever home. It is an attractive choice. However, if it is your choice- aging-in-place
( at home ) does require planning.

3 Important Questions

What choices are necessary to bring you to your "castle" and the experience of  AGING-IN-PALACE © ? Start by asking three simple questions-

 1) What turns a dwelling place into a home that can work for a family over many years?

2) How will that home "look and feel" in later life?

3) How can a home work for those who live there, regardless of age or physical ability?

Good morning JaneAnne -

I really like the word "boomerhood".  Sounds like a word Debbie would use :)  Her parents are transforming their home so that they can stay there vs going to the nursing home.  It has opened our eyes to the real needs that are required to live at home after the boomerhood years.

I’ve been looking all over for bath fixtures for safety that do NOT  look like your traditional grab bar. I finally found this site. When I scrolled on down to “Seniors” (who me?? I’m just getting situated! ) Anyway, when I clicked there Eureka!!  I found super attractive  fixtures that captured my attention and my fancy! Now I’m their Fan. Let me know what you think.
