Buyer's Agents Are Not Always to Blame for Offer Rejection

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

offer rejectionI'm not saying that every time a buyer's offer in Sacramento is rejected, that the buyer should look at their agent for the answers, because sometimes it is not the agent's fault. Sometimes, an agent can write a perfectly acceptable offer, without any errors or mistakes, and it can fit exactly what the seller is looking for and it still won't get accepted, because there were too many others identical to it.

But sometimes it is the agent's fault. I have not done a scientific study of the offers I receive, but my gut instincts say at least half of the offers I receive contain major mistakes. I am probably being too generous.

I would tend to agree that 50% of the offers we receive are rejected due to agent error.

I get that a lot out here too. Crappy offers where the Buyer Agent expresses that they expect to negotiate with the bank.  Not happening if the offer isn't accepted in a multiple offer situation by the seller.

I wrote the PERFECT offer once (or so I thought).  Lucky for me another offer had been accepted about an hour before mine went through.  Talk about relief...
