How the Coachella Music Festival is helping to change the Palm Springs Valley
The Coachella Music Festival first weekend is over with another on the way. We could hear the bass and some of the music from our patio several miles away. The Coachella- festers have been here spending money at the grocery stores and restaurants... and one day they will be coming back to buy a second home1
Twelve years in now, and all of us living in the beautiful Palm Springs Valley, can truthfully say that the incredible dream of Golden Voice and the Empire Polo Club has become a huge asset to our Valley. Golden Voice just signed on for another 17 years with an additional 2 events/season and an increase of numbers at the Festivals. What's happened here in our Valley?
1. Indio is now on the International map for people that had never even heard of this sleepy, East Valley City.
2. Land in Indio, Coachella, Thermal and the East Valley in general is back in demand. I've put two equestrian properties into escrow the past two weeks.
3. Polo and the world famous HITS horseshow used to be what people knew Indio for..now it truly lives up to it's tagline "City of Festivals."
4. Local hotels, rentals and leases are booked often times up to a year in advance..just to hold a spot for the Music Festival.
5. Each of the visitors spend their money here in the city of Indio and all the way west to Palm Springs!
6. Many of our music festival visitors become home owners..what could be bad about that???
As a local here in the East Valley city of La Quinta, my neighboring city of Indio has become swollen with bodies here for the music festival. I could not be happier to see them. Welcome!
