Question: Featured Posts

Hello again -

I'm back with another question!

confusedI've recently been honored to have one of my blog posts become a featured post but I'm not quite sure how this works.  If you post your blog to certain groups, is it one of those group moderators who features your post?  If so, how do you find out which one?  I've looked in all five groups that I posted my blog to and the featured post does not show up on any of them.

I would like to send a quick thank you to the moderator who featured my post but can't figure out who did it.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Renae - is it a featured post in the group or in AR? I've never had an AR chosen post so I'm not sure where they pop up. Hope that you figure it out! Lindsey

Renae,

Your weathering the storms post was Featured by the Active Rain moderators. Not in one of the groups. When you have a feature by the Active Rain moderators it will show up in your points summary.

If you get a post featured in one of the groups, but not by the Active Rain moderators, it does NOT show up in your points summary, however from being featured in a group, you get more exposure.

Hope that explains it:)

Lindsey - I'm not sure where it was featured.  Thanks!

Karen - It does! Thanks so much!  Basically, you're saying that the AR moderators choose to feature certain posts so there isn't really anyone I can send a thank you note to, correct  Are you saying you get more points or more exposure by being featured in a group?

Correct.  You do not get more points by being featured in a group only. However, you may get more exposure, leading to more comments, leading to more points.  (If you post directly to one group, from within that group, however, you do not receive any points at all)

Thanks so much for the clarification, Karen!  I think I've got it now!

Renae, you do get extra points if you are featured by AR, rather than by a group.  It also keeps your post up on the dashboard longer, thereby garnering more readers (and hence additional points).
