Marin County Q1-2013 Real Estate Market Update

By
Real Estate Agent with Marin Realty Experts

My Q1-2013 Marin Real Estate Market Report was referenced by Marin Indendent Journal writer Janis Mara in her blog post today at Janis Mara blog.

The market at the start of 2013 has been characterized by increased demand and a lack of supply. Prices are up considerably from a year ago, which is causing many who have been on the sidelines to jump back into the market. Interest rates remain very low, so there is a window of opportunity for buyers to get in on the recovery. Sellers, though, have been holding off, some waiting for their homes’ value to exceed their loans, while others may be waiting for their homes to climb back to their previous values. We are now back to the situation where many agents will list a home and call for offers to be submitted a few days or a week from the day they go on the market, with the expectation that they will receive multiple offers.
