How Do  I Remember 100 + Passwords Instantly!

Just revisiting some of my earlier posts and I decided to re-post this one to help others. .

I supposed by now I may have over 200 accounts where I need a password and the amazing thing is that I can still recall everyone of them by memory.. .

------------------------------------------------------------------

Passwords aren't that complicated.

I have a different password for everything I have ever subscribe to and at the last count was over 100. ..and I can recall everyone of them instantly. .

how do I remember all my passwords?

Simply. . it's all about the clues from the organization asking you for your password. You create a simple formula.

This is not the same formula I use but. .is a similar example

if you want a password for AOL. .you can take the first letter"A" (of AOL) and the last letter "L"  (of AOL)and put your favorite NFL TEAM in the middle.

so the password will be ASAINTSL (Yes I love the New Orleans Saints)

You can even go one more step. .count the number of letters on AOL and add them for good measure

Your password then will be ASAINTSL3

Now using the same formula you go to Trulia.com

The password will be TSAINTSA6

Your ActiveRain account?

Your password then will be

ASAINTSN10

(Please do not run over to my account and try to blog for me . this is just an example :)

To make it even harder to guess , you may want to add different characters  like *&^&^ on the next to last word or after the third word. . .I would do this steo as well. . so for yahoo my passwrod would be. .YS$AINTSO5. .I added the $ after the third word. .SO YOUR FINAL FORMULA WOULD BE:

First letter of site

My Favorite Team's name

Last letter of site

Number or letters on site name

Add the $ after second letter

Very easy to remember. . . and everyone of your passwords will be different , very hard to guess. . .because you will be the  only one that have the SECRET FORMULA

JUST CREATE YOUR OWN FORMULA,. MEMORIZE IT . . AND DO NOT REVEAL TO ANYONE!

THAT'S IT!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

The problem would be that I have certain sites that require me to change my password frequently and include special characters too.  Plus if anyone ever electronically "cracked the code" on your system.. uh oh.  I have all my passwords saved, but they are saved in an encrypted code in a external hard drive not connected to the the internet so it can't be hacked.

Not a bad idea, but I have two comments:

  1. Apparently there's some Wordpress issue right now and the brute enforcer bots (I'm sure I've gotten the name wrong) are programed to decode words. So, using 1helloth (or something like that) may not be a good thing anymore.
  2. I got 1Password. I remembers all your passwords for you, and so far it has been working well.

My simple way is to keep a journal, address/phone book or a notebook and write each one down and keep them locked in a drawer at home or keep a reminder page on your laptop and on your IPad. I know someone who puts their passwords in their phone as contacts, now they just can't lose their phone. I believe the old way is the best way, write them down in pencil and you can erase and change them every so often. My dad told me once I get an address book , write everything in pencil because people move and their phone numbers change.

Fernando, this is a great way to do it! I find that some of the sites that I don't go to alot, I have to keep guessing my passwords, or have them send me an email with them.

Fernando:  I have a friend... a nice blonde lady... who told me that she just changed her password.  She then told me her new password was "DopeyGrumpyHappySleepySneezyDocBashfulWashington."

I asked her why she picked that as a password, and she said she was told her password should have at least seven "characters" and one "capital" in it.  As far as she was concerned... she said she was Good To Go!

I bet someone did try to login as you. Haha. It is good to have a password format. There are also free application out there that let's you keep all login and password in a vault that you can just copy and paste when you need them.

Interesting system. I was recently with a client. She carried around a little black book. Inside, she had all of her account information with passwords for internet access. I warned her it wasn't safe to have all the info in one location in a book that she carried around. She's a little old school--no computer or smart phone. Since she literally has millions in her accounts, it is risky business.

The Southeast Florida Board requires us to change the password every six months. That want causes me problems in that I am constantly changing password, and running out of combinations. They have even set the server up to check and make sure you not used an old password so not recycling!

Fernando, Really Nice idea  from someone who is selling Really Nice Homes.

However, this can be challenging task for some subscription sites where they expect us to change the password frequently.

Hola!

How are you? I'm glad to hear you have a system that works. I have trouble remembering my passwords if I don't use them on a regular basis.

I just read Karen Stone's reply to you and I'm laughing like crazy!!!

Have a great day :)
