I was so pleased that my friends at the Stonepine Equestrian Center in Carmel Valley invited me to come stay over the weekend. Anytime is beautiful here, but especially in the springtime when the weather is mild during the day and just a little cool at night, cool enough to sit by the fireplace with a glass of wine.
And speaking of wine, there are now 22 vineyards that have opened up their wine tasting rooms in Carmel Valley Village just down the road a couple of miles, and they are having a combined event this weekend, I understand. No wonder, the Big Sur Marathon is being held at the mouth of the valley along the ocean at Big Sur this weekend and thousands of people come to Monterey County for this event. www.carmelvalleycalifornia.com/indexwine.html
Here at the Stonepine Equestrian Center, flowers are everywhere including in flower boxes outside the horse stalls. Paige Hill, Equestrian Sales & Marketing Manager, (photo below) has her office here. She invited me to come for a trail ride on Sunday. The equestrian center offers a lot of different activities to guests at Stonepine Estate so I am really looking forward to the ride.
I also met the stallion, BOLERO, who greeted me this morning while I was taking a quick walking tour.
Better yet, why don't you come to visit yourself! The Paddock House at Stonepine Equestrian Center has several beautiful suites available for guests. There is also a big lawn with lounge chairs and seating areas to enjoy the stunning views. If I had been out there a little earlier, I would probably have seen some deer and wild turkeys that like to come for a visit.
