I am ready when the rain comes
Last year I got my Green Designation. With that came an awareness that we need to do even small things to help protect our environment. The small things add up to be big things. In the following blog Sharon Lee tells us one way she is doing her part to collect and give back to nature, naturally. I think this is fabulous.
Last year I wanted to catch the rainwater to use to help water my ever growing garden so I bought several 5 gal bucket and that worked to a point but they filled up so fast and I would have to go out in the rain when they filled up and if it was pouring they filled up fast and lifting and moving 5 gals of water which weighs 40# is a lot for me. I learned about rainbarrels and how much better they were than my system so this year I ordered them for all the gutters I have 5 of them and they each hold 40 gals.
Now when it rains I will not have to go out in the pouring rain to move 5 gal buckets and they have a spigot on the bottom that I can use to water the plants closest to each rain barrel so that will make watering the garden so much easier and more efficient. They will get their first rain on Sunday. They also look a lot better than six or seven 5 gal buckets sitting around the yard.
LET IT RAIN
