I Can't Help It - I'm Old Fashioned.

This blog is spot on. It is so important to take the time to thank people and a hand written card would be at the top of my list to accomplish this. Who doesn't appreciate a thank you?

thank you note

When was the last time you received a handwritten note in the mail or, for that matter, when was the last time you sent a handwritten note in the mail?

Very few young people use cursive - it's not necessary when their primary means of communication is via a smart phone.  I've even heard there are school districts that are considering dropping cursive from the curriculum.

In my case, I use email and text extensively as a real estate transaction progresses.  However, that comes to a screeching halt once I have a HUD-1 in hand.

My stationery cabinet has a substantial inventory of thank you notes from Hallmark and RE/MAX.  There is no pre-printed message other than what may be on the cover of the card.

They go to everyone involved in the transaction except to the buyer or seller on the other side of the transaction and my business card is included.

It may be old fashioned, but I was raised to be courteous and always thank those who supported me.

Dinah Lee, what a fabulous idea.  I have always loved the great impression that sending a hand-written note to buyers or sellers makes after a transaction closed.  Nice warm fuzzies.

But I had not thought about also sending a "hand-written note" to all the folks involved in bringing to fruition that successful closing.  Great idea.

Also... this asinine idea of NOT teaching cursive in the schools.  Oh my gosh.  Society is definitely "going to Hell in a hand-basket." (But, then again, I was taught by the nuns.  What dear, dear women they were.)

It it ever happens... what a tragic loss it would be.  And yes, I don't guess... I know that I am old fashioned, too.
