Stopping Those Unwanted Emails

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

get rid of email spamSome person I've never spoken to nor had any business relationship with decided two years ago to sign up for automatic Sacramento home listings from my company website. He chose me as his Sacramento real estate agent, but he never responded to any inquires from me, so I stopped emailing him. I am not in the business to bug people. If they just want information from my website and don't want to interact with me or receive personal assistance from me, that's OK, too.

Eventually, as time marched on, I changed my website to a professional business website outside of the company website. But there are still hundreds of subscribers who continue to receive emails through my old website, and there was no logical reason to take it down.

Yet, this morning, this guy who has been receiving free Sacramento home listings for two years suddenly decided he no longer wanted them, and somehow I was the bad guy in all of this. Read more on my professional website today about How to Get Rid of Email Spam.

Oh Elizabeth... the "boneheads" out there can be difficult to understand!  It is strange that someone who "opts in", other words, gives permission to receive emails, would then decide to define you as a "spammer"!  Adios to them!!

Frustrating that he's making you the bad guy.  I've got a new client that I was setting up with an automatic search that she'd asked for.  When putting in her email address, the MLS told me that she had previously marked incoming messages from the site as spam.  I called her, told her that she would likely find the first message in her junk mail folder and told her why.  The very next day she emails me to resend the listings, she never got them.  I had to go through the entire explanation again.  If she doesn't undo her sending messages from our MLS to spam, I am never going to be able to send her a listing.

Just don't understand some peoples train of thought.  Thankfully he is gone so there is good news to be found in most everything.
