Do ya think Deb? I find Salsa very natural - however mind you, for some strange reason, never having been taught it, I knew it - have always danced it from a child - who knows where that came from?

Fun is always the best reason to dance!

That's fabulous I love to hear of dance success - great salsa dancing!

Okay so now that makes more sense - tango! Which style do they teach there? We have here - American, International and Argentine. I've taken International, but prefer Argentine - the real thing well close. But when I first tried it yeras ago I found it so hard.

Hi Deborah! My daughter met up with her dance school friends and had the best time. Lot of college kids and she said the restaurant was packed. I'll have to ask Donna about the style, all I know is it's too hard for me to grasp.

Argentine Tango is especially hard because in many ways it is backwards to other dance styles - you start on the opposite foot and direction. It was after I'd left off the other dances awhile that I then found it easier to learn - I've even learned some of the (basic) lead!

Things come in their own time.

Hi Deborah, good for you! The change in direction may be part of the problem. (If we're doing the cha cha, it's hard for my brain to switch to something like swing.)  Samba is tough for me too. Practice helps so much.

Yes practice, practice. I started over 12 years ago now, but I take beginners over and over and over - repetition is the best way to learn. Dance is like that - step upon step.

Yes, certain steps are in my head now and it's all because I practice. My daughter has gotten so good and really enjoys these classes. The same students that organized this event also has them at a church on another night, for free. Can't beat that!
