3 GOOD REASONS TO SELL YOUR HOME IN WASHINGTON DC NOW

You have heard the news about tight inventories - and they are true! Washington DC has nearly 32% LESS single family inventory this year than last ... so if you are considering listing your home for sale in Washington DC, now is the perfect time. If you live in Maryland or Virginia, the inventory drought is similar there too!  

Here is a little factoid that you might not know however.  Sellers in Washington wait for the azaleas to bloom. Buyers wait for the Super Bowl. 

Guess which one has come and gone and guess which one is about to happen. SERIOUS Buyers have been looking for  a new home since January.  Many of them have already found their homes.  Now that azaleas are about to bloom, inventory is starting to creep up.  TOTAL Single family listings in DC were at 519 in January and now they are at 559 at the end of March, the last month to be tabulated. 


That means that right now is the perfect time to list your home in Washington DC.  

1.  Inventory in the DC METRO AREA real estate market is still low.  Lots of listings -including ones that didn't sell in past years- are getting multiple offers and are selling for close to list price, and even over list price.  

2.  Interest rates are still low for buyers, and there are still plenty of buyers out there looking.

3.  Buyers are still anxious about finding their dream home and so they are willing to be flexible on inspections and other contingencies.
