26th Annual General Sam Houston Folk Festival
It's almost time for the 26th Annual General Sam Houston Folk Festival! This festival, which involves folk life demonstrations, and living history reenactments, will be held on the grounds of the Sam Houston Memorial Museum Park.
The Sam Houston Memorial Park is a 19 Acre complex that is home to several of General Sam Houston's homes, a museum, education center, general store, a lake, and walking trails.
The park alone is a sight to see. Fill it full of people dressed in period clothing blowing glass, molding pottery, and blasting cannons -- and you've got a FOLK FESTIVAL!
There will be wood workers and leather workers. You will hear a cowboy poet, learn about your Native American ancestors, and be entertained by the dulcimer players.
This 3 day event will take place on Friday, May 3 from 9 AM to 4 PM, Saturday, May 4 from 10 AM to 6 PM and Sunday, May 5 from 10 AM to 5 PM.
