First place to visit is The Amarillo Zoo and Thompson Park.

The Amarillo Zoo is located in Thompson Park, which is a 330 Acre park that offers shady picnic areas, Frisbee golf, playgrounds, lakes, swimming pools, tennis, and walking trails. This park is beautifully landscaped with tons of mature trees for plenty of shade and scenery. The Zoo takes up 15 acres of 330 from the park, It shelters of 60 different species from mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians, invertebrates, and reptiles. 3 of their featured animals are the three African Lions whose names are Solomon, Sheba, and Sarai.
