Southridge High School in Beaverton OR Band Members Serenade the Neighbors

The young band members of Southridge High School in Beaverton OR played paid us a visit the other day and delighted the neighbors with a nice, little serenade. At first, when I heard the music, I thought it was coming from the radio.  Then the friendly tap on the front door and their introduction explained the music that was wafting through the neighborhood.

The Southridge High School Band was taking donations to help raise funds for their music program. This weekend, May 4, 2013 the Beaverton Friends of Music will be hosting an informative meeting about music in public schools.

Please plan to attend:

Special Public Meeting with Dr. John Benham Saturday, May 4th • 10:00am-12:00pm Southridge High School 9625 SW 125th Ave, Beaverton, OR 97008

Carla,  I really enjoyed that video.  I hope the kids from Southridge High School raise the funds they need. It's a shame that so many school budgets have been cut to the bone and kids need to raise funds for their various programs.  Why does the government not cut their own budget so these kids can play their instruments?

Hi Brenda . . . yes, the little darlings!

Hey Kathleen -- and the government would be the local school district that could probably shave quite a bit from the administration budget!  Instead, they want to raise property taxes on a levy.
