People in Rancho Santa Margarita lead very busy lives, and often fixing a meal becomes a low priority. That doesn't mean we have no cooks. Friends meet around the table for some very fine cuisine ... but there are those days where you want to forget shopping, cooking, cleaning, and coordinating.
Dining out is actually one of the first things a new buyer in RSM considers. That time of moving, unpacking, and putting away all of your "things" can be a real tiring period. A quick, yet enjoyable, meal may be quickly on your mind.
Fortunately, this community has an abundance of dining opportunities, from the standard fare of quick food / take out options, to some more exotic options. We even have our own historical site where President Nixon enjoyed a fine steak dinner in the trees of Live Oak Canyon.
Many of our dining options are centered in Rancho Santa Margarita's Town Center, a cluster of shopping centers that back to each other, and provide a variety of retail options. You will find every type of cuisine here, including standard American, Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Japanes, Thai, and Greek. Each has a variety of offerings, including outdoor ( and lakeside ) settings. The menus run from inexpensive to pricey, and you will find the "presentation" ranges from simple to artful presentations.
The establishments we have in this community are time tested. If their food is not good, they will not have enough customers to keep the doors open. The survivors have loyal, and regular, followings.
I'm not a specialist in fine dining, but in the weeks to come, I will discuss a few of the restaurants I enjoy. You can check out websites for ratings, but perhaps some of what I will be sharing will introduce you to a new favorite place to gather with friends and family.
