F.U.E.L. Fundraiser in Clarksville Rescheduled to June 8.

Because of expected inclement weather and the possibilities of flash flooding and several inches of rain, the FUEL Fundraiser has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 8. The times will remain the same so tickets printed for May 4 will be honored on June 8.

This event is so important for raising money to feed hungry children in Clarksville, it was determined that good weather has to be a partner for the maximum in fundraising. So if you have already bought your tickets, hang on to them to use on June 8.

If you haven't bought your tickets then plan to do so and why not get a whole bunch of your friends together and come? You will have a great time and be helping feed hungry children through the efforts of the F.U.E.L. Program.

FUEL Fundraiser Did you know that many school children leave school on Friday afternoons and return to school Monday having had nothing to eat? It is a huge problem and the F.U.E.L. Program has undertaken this as a mission to help stem the gap on hunger.

School counselors and teachers identify the needy children so they can receive food for the weekends to help keep them fed until Monday mornings. This non-profit organization accepts donations of money and individually wrapped snacks.

FUEL Fundraiser For the 6th straight year the Clarksville Association of Realtors is sponsoring a 2013 Block Party to help raise money and create awareness about this need. This event will have music, food and games for all that attend. Tickets for the lunch portion are just $5 and available through the Association office. For this small $5 donation you can have a hotdog or hamburger, chips, canned drink and homemade cookies.

Time: 10am to 2pm

Where: CAR Office 115 Center Point Dr.

Why: Fundraiser and Fun Time

Cost: $5 for lunch tickets

Everyone will have a great time and will leave knowing that more children will not be hungry because of the generosity of the people of Clarksville.

The weather is so unpredictable. We had almost 7 inches of rain last weekend and another couple of inches predicted for this weekend. As it goes we will probably have the another dry summer. I think this was so smart postponing for chances of better weather.

This is a great event, and I'm glad you were able to reschedule and I hope the weather is better soon. I hate to see children suffering. I think it's fabulous your board is doing this for the kids. Last year my office collected school supply donations for back to school. This was my project.
