I've been working really hard on a new addition to my business. In essence I've very excited to help Realtors and builder implement their own personal in house lender.
I traveled last week to Wilmington, NC and met with a very energetic real estate owner there. We clicked hit it off and our new relationship was formed. A few days went by, she's already helping me grow and connect with other large owners through out the South East, USA. She called me last night and I could sense a hesitation in her voice. She started off by saying how wonderful the Alera Express program was but she felt that God's timing was not right for her. We talked it over and she proceed to hand me her entire business network. She said she wanted to help me build and grow this tool for others. She see's the value and quality of the concept, just the timing isn't right for her to build it.
I asked her why. She went on to share with me the following story...

You see, in Malaysia, it's illegal to have anything Christian or referencing God. She's told me about the influence some close associates had made on her beliefs over the past several years. She accepted Christ and felt her life, family and business had grown from God's help. I know how successful she is...I had just left her multi million dollar home over looking the ocean!
She then shared that she felt God's calling was for her to build a Christian school in Malaysia, her home country. She was so tempted to jump at building a business with Alera but she could not give me the time and effort it would demand. She wanted it shared with people she networked with, she just wanted me to handle it. She trusted me to take care of those closest to her. I was floored. She also told me that in order to build the school, she need to raise $5 million dollars. She and her husband had decided to sacrifice and sell their home to help raise money. They knew that their sacrifice would help hundreds of young people.
I'm still humbled by the confidence she has in me as a Realtor and business builder. I am honored to meet someone who see's the world is bigger than our daily lives.
Thank you to her...she knows how much she has opened doors for me. I intend on sharing the wealth with her school. God's plan is bigger than we both could have imagined. My goals have shifted to growing wealth to help others, not myself.
