When all eyes are upon you, or at least the perception that all eyes are upon are you brilliant or BS?  Are you thinking through an answer, or are you quick to jump to a scripted answer?  How often have you encountered someone who cannot deviate from what they have been told to tell you? Or worse who is thinking of a another question instead of reflecting on the answer you are giving them?

Often we get solicitation calls.  They are all basically the same. Regardless of what you say, the scripted caller just keeps going.  It is down right annoying at times, and amusing at others.  Taking a scripted caller as far off the topic as is humanly possible is at least entertaining.  

It is for this reason I have decided to purchase a Parrot.  All he will say is hello and goodbye. His primary job is handle solicitation calls. Think about the hours of fun I will have screening calls. "One moment please Mr. Bird you have a caller on line one!"  Hello. 

Sometimes, it is not what we say, but how we are perceived by buyers and sellers.  Too often, a scripted presentation lacks the real voice we need when addressing our customers concerns in this different kind of market.  Those of us who have been doing this awhile, all know we have to be real to succeed.

BEING BRILLIANT

Means being real.  Like my feathered friend pictured above, it means showing your true colors and being who you are.  If you are boring and bland you may need to add some color to your persona.  Recording yourself will reveal if you are colorful or colorless.  It is not what you say...it is how you say it!

BS

Everyone knows when are full of it or not.  Hw often do kids think they will get out of telling the truth if they can bedazzle you, bewilder you, or just BS you?  A lot unless you hold them accountable.  So, if even a child knows they can try it, what makes you think adults haven't heard it all before?

   Saying it and demonstrating it are two different things. 

The best way to be brilliant, is to be human.   POlish your skills to perfection and keep working at unique and colorful ways to express what it is you are trying to convey.

Allison I couldn't agree more. Folks can tell a script and a fake from a mile away. I have never liked scripts. No your business inside out and you will never need to use one. Answer with confidence and knowledge.
