Buyers, Stagers, Everybody can use this cool tool!

I have to give Pinterest the credit here as they send me a highlight email every week and this is where I noticed this 'cool tool'.  I jumped on the urban home, room planner and gave it a whirl and it is sooooo easy a monkey could do it (like me!).

Urban Barn has a room planning tool that they use obviously to sell furniture but it's fresh and innovative too.  Actually let's you visualize what the furniture will look like in your room with different planner aids of actual furniture.  As soon as I saw this it was a 'eureka' moment.

We've all had visually challenged buyers right? So for grins, I did a bedroom furniture plan to see how easy it was to do.  Took all of 5 minutes!  Wish moving an armoire was as easy as pushing my mouse!

Give it a try and check it out.  I'm sure that you can envision many more uses that will help your clients.

Hi Lyn - that looks like the Icovia room planner tool, which many furniture stores have on their websites.  It's great, and I have used it for years.  You can really get the exact size - and configuration - of each room, as well as size the furniture pieces accurately.

I think it's a great tool & you are correct. Years ago I tried to use some of these planners & they were just too much of a hassle - they've come a long way.

This tool is helpful, as you said Lyn, for everyone ... you don't need an engineering degree to work with it! Easy to work with, and quick, it can help you plan furniture placement ahead of time.

Maybe I will.  That way maybe my wife won't have me move the furiture several time before she likes where it is.

Bill:  See I didn't think of that aspect but yes, saves your back.

Maureen:  Saves time & the 'are you sure?' aspect of taking out furniture or rearranging what you have.

Kathy:  Thanks for including me, it's great to share new finds with everyone here.

Fernando:  I'm sure you'll have lots of buyers or sellers to take advantage of it.

Debbie:  I would think in your business people might want to 'tweak' the furniture placement after that new flooring or carpeting.

Valerie:  I've tried these plans years ago & just gave up because they were just too cumbersome. This works great & has come a long way.

This looks great, I will check it out later.  My daughter sent me an ipad app called Homestyler that I haven't had a chance to play with yet, but it looks good too.

Nice.  Over the years I've tried many of these type tools.  Gave up on all of them because of the learning curve.  This one seems like it may be just what is needed.

Lyn:  Definitely something I'm passing on to my wife.  She's always complaining about needing visual tools as a crutch .. esp. when talking rooms and layouts.  Great find on Pinterest.  Hope we can share more via that outlet here on the Rain ..  but also on Pinterest as well ...

Re-blog on its way!!  Thanks!

Lyn, this looks awesome, I can't wait to play with it! I wonder though, do you have to put in the size of the furniture? Or just say king size or whatever? I will know that answer in just a second!

Evelyn:  There are several samples, full, queen, king as an example.  For the tables, etc. you can put the actual dimensions & somehow it plots them out.  So my furnitures samples are the exact measurements so everything will fit absolutely correctly.  Also the drawing tool to see how far apart each piece is, call it the measuring tool.

Gene:  I've tried these things before & this one was very easy for me.

Sharon:  Sounds like a good program also. Design your kitchen too.

Sheila: That's what happened with me previously. Just too cumbersome, program locked up, etc.

Lyn, helpful tool. Now if it would allow users to insert actual furniture photos to create a 'low-priced' vitual staging platform. The available virtual staging programs are quite expensive to use. Thanks for sharing with us!

Norman:  I think that the app Sharon Tara suggests does just that.

Bob:  Makes things alot easier.

Donna:  Good idea.

Brenda:  Don't think so.  Another IPad app mentioned by Sharon is the next level up from this.
