ok.. so I went to this SEMPO meeting last night with a bunch of search engine marketers and it was pretty cool. There was a guy from Google and some other really interesting speakers talking about social media. At the end of the meeting, they had a drawing for a "Flip Video" recorder and one of the "experts" said this is a MUST HAVE for anyone that enjoys blogging / social video. Naturally, I searched Active Rain tonight to see what some of you think. Not a ton of info here but a couple of good articles and from what I found, it sounded pretty cool.

Basically, you have this small, hand held video camera that takes up to 60 minutes of video and connects to your computer via a usb port for "idiot proof" videos. Uploading to YouTube and emailing videos is supposedly a snap. How fun is that?!? It looks like the most expensive model is less than a couple hundred bucks.. Sounds like I'm gonna have a new toy to play with very soon..

I also found this YouTube video of Glenn Beck talking about the cameras and found his endorsement interesting..

Jon and I just got ours. Expect some video blogging from the two of us in the near future. They are on Amazon on sale for $149.00 for the top of the line one. Great deal and they work really well and are super easy!

Thanks Nick for the heads up on an innovative product.

and now a word from our sponsor...

I would be remiss if I didn't remind readers that more video clips suggest the need for video editing software.  We talk in the E-Pro and Photoshop groups of Adobe Premiere Elements - the video companion product to Photoshop Elements.  Still special pricing available on the Photoshop/Premiere Elements bundles which include both Elements programs.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

Nick - Ah yes the Flip camera. I though that I had seen a post about this sweet new camera a few months ago. I looked all over for it and here it is.

Maybe not as cool as the Flip camera, but I think that you can now buy a HD video camera under $150.

Hi Ryan.. Thanks for the link. It was one of the ones I found in the "searched Active Rain" link from my original post. Sam did a good job with that one.
