Fairbanks Alaska Condominiums... All the benefits of home ownership without all the work. Sound good? If so, a Fairbanks condominium might be perfect. Fairbanks has a wide variety of condominium projects to choose from starting with a cozy 1 bedroom 1 bath flat for $88,000 to a stunning new condominium development on the Chena River for $350,000.

Most Fairbanks condominium fees include heating oil/natural gas, water/sewer, lawn care, snow removal, refuse service, structural insurance and building maintenance. There are a handful of condominiums that include everything listed above except heating oil/natural gas. For those select developments the condominium fees are considerably less. Woodside North units, for example, each have their own heating system and pay $170+/- in monthly association fees as compared to $440 for Linck Estates, which includes heat.

Frank - Thanks... the few newer developments have gone upscale... We just don't have the market for high end condos... yet.

Gary - For the most part our condo market is very affordable... much more so than the average single family anyway.

Jerry- haha. It's a little long winded, huh?

Ann - We've progressed beyond igloos... barely. :)  There is talk of a developer building a high rise near downtown but he keeps hitting financing hurdles. Imagine that.

Jerry - For all our land... the vast area that is Alaska, we really have a small amount of usable building land in Fairbanks.  A great deal of it is permafrost or frozen soils which requires an expensive engineered foundation.
