Blooging for listing exposure...

By
Real Estate Agent with Homelife/Response Realty Inc. Brokerage

Since I got such a wonderful response from my first blog post here at Active Rain, I have thought really hard about what to blog about next.

Because I’m new to the blogosphere, I thought I would post about blogging!

I know that it’s beneficial to blog for any business owner, especially real estate professionals, and I would love to get my listings more exposure. I would be curious to hear what some more experienced agents and bloggers do via their blogs to attract more interest to their listings.

Is it enough to simply put up a blog and feature a listing? Is it best to blog about useful real estate information, try to establish a ‘following’ and let the search engines do their thing?

I don’t think I’m the only agent new to blogging so I’m sure any comments will be useful to more people than just myself.

Looking forward to your comments!

You can blog about anything, I blog about lifes experiences, my life in real estate, current events, my listings, my experiences as an agent.  The more relevant your blog the more readership it will have.  Share tips for life.  Good luck!!

Hi Randa, Welcome to Active Rain. You will love it. I write from the heart.  In my opinion, variety spices up the reading. These are some of the topics I write:  Weekly Market Report for my area (under localism in my county and state), Feature my Listings (under localism in my county and state), a weekly "Kay's TV Guide", football, pets, family, local events, and anything else that comes to my mind.  (check out my blog for more examples)

I have a large following.  This happens by 'subscribing' to others' blogs.  For example, go to my blog and and click on the 'Subscribe to my Blog' above my photo.  I am subscribing to yours.  By subscribing to your favorite bloggers (which you will have MANY), you start to really know these people and you establish a bond.

It is important to make the 10 comments a day on other's blogs to help encourage them, interact with them, and support them.  I look through the new blogs first, subscribe to some new ones every day then I go to my subscribers and read theirs (not all of them but as many as I have time for).  Sometimes I comment on more than ten a day. The key is to be consistent and do this EVERY day SEVEN days a week.  And...to write TEN blogs EVERY week.  That gives you exposure.

Hope this helps.
