Muskies Not Included My husband Al is a freelance writer; last month Lyons Press published his new book DEERLAND: America’s Hunt for Ecological Balance and the Essence of Wildness. In his spare time, he also has a fantastic part-time job as my Realtor’s Assistant. He ghost-writes the occasional blog post or property description, and he frequently helps me out with signage errands and photography.

The other day he spent the afternoon getting fresh exterior shots for several of my new new listings—including this four-bedroom lake home on Upper Eau Claire.

Although these listings had come on the market in just the past few months, our late spring has meant that the old photos included just a little too much ice and snow. Late that afternoon he returned with great new shots of the Upper Eau Claire listing. He was especially excited, however, about the waterfront photos from Upper Eau Claire Lake. When he stepped out onto one of the home's two docks, a good-sized musky cruised out from beneath it. He snapped several quick photos, and then the musky took off across the bay like a small nuclear-powered submarine. It's one thing to know they’re in there. But it’s even more fun to actually see them.

As a Realtor, however, I can’t make any official guarantees that this particular musky will still be hanging around the end of your dock after you’ve moved in. Someone else may have caught it. Or, as the lake warms up a bit, it may leave the shallows for deeper waters. This home is in perfect, move-in condition. But officially, at least... Muskies are not included.
