Let’s celebrate Memorial Day on the Back 40 by Saluting our Military on Saturday, May 25, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Institute of Texan Cultures and UTSA in association with the Smithsonian Institution proudly presents “Texans on the Battlefield”. Come and discover the historic role of Texans in the American military!
Travel back in time and visit the Frontier Fort, engage in marching drills, observe historic firearm demonstrations, explore tactical vehicles, and interact with Texas soldiers from the American Revolution, Texas Revolution, American Civil War, Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and Afghanistan. This event is an overview of the role of Texans in major American conflicts throughout time. The Institute of Texan Cultures will be partnering with the Lone Star Heritage Association and retired military personnel to bring you an exciting event!
Included with regular admission: $8 for adults (12-64); $7 for seniors (65+); $6 for children (3-11); free with membership, UTSA or Alamo Colleges identification.
